JOSHUA+ — "WHITE JESUS" SINGLE
In summer 2021, The Absorb. label was thrilled to release the fourth single by experimental hip-hop artist JOSHUA+, entitled "WHITE JESUS".

Because the song contains a highly personal lyric about the artist's childhood and opulent predictions for the future, we needed to visually fuse the humble, majestic, and modern narratives contained in the song. Absorb. commissioned photographs of "Corpus" - a life-sized bronze sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini (c. 1655) - from the Art Gallery Of Ontario. We manipulated the photos with color and added minimalist type elements for a striking and evocative result.

For the electrifying music video, directors Taylor Blythe and Christopher Burton created vivid scenes of young skateboarders and street artists encamped in an old church building which they secretly inhabit. As recklesness swirls around JOSHUA+ during performance scenes, we are again reminded of the optimistic spirit of youth. "WHITE JESUS" became JOSHUA+'s most successful song to date, accumulating six-figure streaming totals from the video and track, and securing placements in multiple saugh-after playlists.

JOSHUA+'s music is available on all platforms now.
